Converted from a former stables block and on offer for the first time for the summer of 2005, we have opted to provide large rooms and open plan living. The total floor space is over 130sq metres spread over two floors. On the ground floor there are two large French doors opening into the open plan kitchen/dining/living area with a large fireplace at one end and luxury open plan kitchen at the other. Upstairs, there are two spacious bedrooms, both capable of sleeping up to four people and both with luxurious en-suite facilities. One has a double bed with the option of a pull out sofa while the other has a bunkbed with a double at the bottom and a separate single bed.
The cottage opens out onto a secure courtyard (shared with neighbours) which is gated and there is a large garden which is also walled and gated. Within the garden there is a separate fenced off area for toddlers with sandpit and other toys adjacent to the patio area with BBQ's, tables and loungers. The garden contains swings, climbing frame, see-saw, slide and various other games as well as a full size boules pitch for the adults. The pool is 8mx4.5m and 1.2m deep set in a decked area and is very suitable for children. It is fenced off according to French regulations. Our garden gets the sun from early morning until late evening and most of our guests find that they end up spending most of their holiday there!

'Le Moulin de Palbas' is a 16th century estate and its atmosphere still reflects the serenity of the monks, the former occupants. Since the farming as such was abandoned a long time ago, its 33 hectares consist of woods, prairies, marshland and a lake. The mill that gave the estate its name is no longer there, but has left us its foundations.. 'Le Moulin de Palbas' lies at 5 kms from the center of a village of 500 souls, Pruniers, in the heart of the Berry region, 250 kms South of Paris, in the Indre. The Berry region is rich in history ('les Ducs de Berry) and culture, but has not been discovered by tourists yet. The rivers Cher and Indre flow quietly, the landscape is hilly with meadows and forest
If you prefer cultural activities, you won't be disappointed either: two of the most picturesque villages in France are to be found in the Indre region. Interesting daytrips - for all ages - can be made to the Loire chateaux and their famous vineyards, the Noirlac Abbey, the 'Vallée Noire' and the house of George Sand in Nohant, the 13th century watermill in Angibault, the gardens in Orsan, the romantic music weeks and the festival of traditional music, the Futuroscope, the Palace Jacques Coeur and the cathedral in Bourges, the Parc Naturel de la Brenne and the Parc Animalier de la Haute Touche, France's biggest outdoor zoological garden. Furthermore, there are many festivals, markets, antiques markets etc. in all seasons.
